At Victoria Park Physiotherapy, we offer additional specialised services which are not always available at other clinics. These specialised services incur no extra cost and are beneficial in both the diagnosis and treatment of your injury.
Back and neck injuries can occur at many different levels, and neural, muscular or skeletal injuries can offer present similar symptoms. Our priority is to assess on which level the injury has occurred so we can treat it effectively and efficiently.
One of the benefits of being treated at Victoria Park Physiotherapy is that our physiotherapists are skilled in the use of real-time ultra-sound imaging. This allows us to gain a greater understanding of each patient’s injury, which therefore allows us to treat our patients more effectively than practices which do not have this equipment.
Used in Chinese medicine for years, acupuncture is also now widely practiced amongst General Practitioners and can be practiced by the physiotherapists at our clinic.
Acupuncture (or dry-needling) has a number of positive effects for the patient. The use of ultra-fine needles means that the there is no pain associated with acupuncture; and one of the biggest benefits is that the needles can be used to release severe spasm which might otherwise have to be treated with drugs. Releasing these spasms is of great benefit to the central nervous system, and acupuncture is associated with the decrease of stress, (as well as in pain) and, used effectively, can increase both movement and function.
